Betty McCoy Hawkins, a soulful and anointed woman of God, grew up in Louisiana as the youngest of 10 children. With a strong foundation in Christ, she has been actively involved in ministry for most of her life. Betty has served as a youth leader, youth director, and praise and worship leader. She has shared her powerful vocals in numerous choirs throughout Northeast Louisiana, often taking the stage as a soloist.
As the leader of United, Betty McCoy Hawkins is a gospel singer and chief songwriter. United consists of background singers from different backgrounds, united together in Christ. In 2015, Betty and United released their first singles, "You Are," a praise and worship anthem, and "All I Need," a contemporary and soulful gospel track.
In 2015, God gave Betty a vision to write all her songs, not realizing that these songs of comfort were preparing her for the passing of her daughter, who was a member of United. Despite the trials, Betty never lost her praise and her faith. She continued to pursue God's vision and recorded her next two singles, "Faithful God," an up-tempo Latin gospel song, and "A Change is Coming," an anointed song of encouragement, which was released in June 2016.
In 2016, Betty Hawkins and United became members of the PrayzeFactor Inspired Artists Movement and The International Music Association (TIMA), where Betty gained recognition as an international recording artist. She performed on the beautiful islands of Nassau, Bahamas. Betty and United have won numerous gospel music awards, including Best Praise and Worship, Traditional Artists, and Best CD for Group/Duo. They have graced various platforms such as the Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards, Prayze Factor Inspired Artists, and Indie Artists Now with Radio Personality and Promoter Lady Wanda Bell.
In 2019, Betty Hawkins released another impactful gospel single titled "I Believe," which was written and produced by Joey Oscar of JOMOCO Music. In December 2021, she delighted her fans with a new Christmas tribute single and music video called "Another Christmas Without You." Additionally, Betty was honored and received the Living Legends Award at the 25th Annual Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards in Houston, Texas on February 16, 2023.
Looking ahead, in July 2023, Betty Hawkins and United embarked on preparations for their highly anticipated 'LIVE Recording Concert' titled "In His Presence," with the gospel single released on September 12, 2023. This project exemplifies their unwavering commitment to sharing the message of faith and hope through the transformative presence of God.
